What a fantastic idea! And only using one color shows how smart you are….. it seems as though when little one’s get to paint with several colors at once….. the project sometimes ends up completely brown.
I bet they love their new shirts too!LikeLike

That last picture is absolutely adorable. I bet they didn’t want to take their traveling works of art off. That color of blue is perfect as well.

Melissa! Love this so much! I’m going to try this with my children this week, too. I love the intention behind having a plan first. A single color gave it such drama and simplicity, all at once.Your artists are so talented and how lucky the are to have you guiding them.

Hi Melissa,
Making them practice to Plan first even before Acting is a good work! I appreciate. I love craft work and you created the desire sew! I am longing to get a Sewing maching first 😦 I normally follow up your blog and you are an inspiration to create my own blog – allygeorge.wordpress.com. Please check this out and let me know your feedback.

Just beautiful Melissa. The kids will look back on the shirts and have fond memories and remember making them I am sure.
They are great little artists like their mom.LikeLike

That is a wonderful project for a holiday week.
Even if the kids don’t follow you in a crafting world (but I know they will!) when they grow up, they will always value handmade products!
There will be wonderful memories of “Mom made me this…”LikeLike

Children’s art is so special!!!
…reminds me of a few years ago when Jamie did some “making” on his teeshirt, only it wasn’t “mum-directed”… he “couldn’t remember” how the straight scizzor-edged hole go there (!) – I think they are curious about fabric!LikeLike

Those are really great!
We do fabric painting sometimes, mostly while I’m freezer paper stencilling, but my girls aren’t used to it enough yet to value product over process–meaning their shirts end up so covered in paint that they’re stiff! Oh well–one can always use another shirt for painting in, I suppose.LikeLike

Very cool! I love your children’s drawings and to be able to put them on their own clothing, a very clever idea!
