I made a new batch of notecards using watercolour paints and some index cards. I was inspired by some of the pages in this vintage book I wrote about a while ago. I love the simple, muted designs of the old Swedish embroideries. And the vine and tulip motifs that are featured quite often in the book. And I also loving having new stationery to use.

It was rainy and quiet yesterday. Perfect for listening to music with the children and painting together. At least, that was my idea, but they preferred to argue over dress-up costumes and eat biscuits.

Wishing you a happy weekend…

p.s. If you live in New Zealand and enjoy listening to Radio NZ National, would you consider joining this facebook group to show that you're worried about the proposed funding cuts to our public radio? (Actually, you don't have to be in NZ to listen to our top-quality national programme – go here. 🙂
Thank you!

I joined the Facebook group yesterday (would die without my National Radio!) and the membership was 2,000-odd, just checked and it’s well over 4,000. Hopefully National will back off, though I’m not holding my breath…
    Very pretty notecards 🙂

    So gorgeous!
You should consider making some stationery sets for your shop 🙂
I’m really concerned about the concert programme too (being a Classical musician). This government seems intent on meddling in everything that doesn’t need to be meddled in, and sitting on their hands about important issues. But that’s politics I guess.

The new stationery is very nice to receive, too :^)
Our public radio broadcaster switched recently from mostly classical on weekdays to more ‘popular’ music. The move was supposed to showcase Canadian artists but it doesn’t really, and it’s not very nice to listen to any more. I hope you guys fare better!

Living in Australia, but still finding myself deeply
invested in all those things about New Zealand that I hold dear (like National Parks, and Radio NZ) I am so distressed by all the crazy schemes that National have
on the table at the moment.
Streaming Radio NZ on Saturday mornings is the best thing ever… it makes me feel so at home 🙂 So many expats must do it… it’s so wonderful that it’s free (and yet, I guess us overseas listeners don’t create any revenue for the station or pay tax!)

Oh they are so lovely! What a perfect idea for notecards. Thank you for the link to the radio. I’m in the US but I will definitely give it a listen. I hope they don’t do away with your public radio – what a drag! Beautiful images.

That print in the second photo is gorgeous. And I hope they don’t cut your public radio. I listen to ours all day long and would go batty without it.
