Summer 2

Summer 1

Summer 4

Summer 3

Here are some photos I took on the weekend. Here, where early summer is in full swing, everything is humming, buzzing, unfurling. We had sweet peas climbing, icecream melting, a cousin from the north island staying, sundresses on the beach, a tea party in a rose garden and a late-night movie date.

All the while feeling so grateful for everything we have. My heart goes out to the miners and their families on the West Coast– you're always in our thoughts.

Beautiful, isn’t summer so rich. Your skirt looks pretty.
And yes those miners, so awfully sad. They had photos of them in the library today and a wee notebook for people to leave a message.

What bliss. Our garden is glowing a glorious shade of green too…most of it reflecting off the lettuce, lettuce and more lettuce. Aren’t we lucky to be able to step out the back door and find something crispy and delicious to nibble on?

I think I need two homes-one in Montana for the northern hemisphere summers and one in New Zealand for the southern ones. This girl is not a winter person. People here say they cannot imagine Christmas without snow, but I say, “I’d love to try it once!” I could go Christmas shopping in my shorts and be totally happy!

Sounds like a perfect weekend to me and lovely photos as well.
I really like the checkered dress and the sweet peas.
Melissa- I am sitting here in my winter wear with knitting in my lap. Wishing the heat would kick in just for a wee bit so I could go do some sewing in the attic. Though the knitting really is more appealing as I’m working a mohair/silk combination and it feels so good running through my fingers. I feel like I’ve been cheating on my sewing. Do you ever feel guilty when you pay attention more to one craft then the other. It’s rather silly but, I can’t help it.
