Blue 1

Blue 3

Blue 2

I finished this blue dress for Keira over the weekend. The pattern was found in this book and the design is #B. I used a soft blue wool-blend fabric, so hopefully it will be cosy with tights and boots this winter. I embroidered the yoke of the dress in white thread- with some simple branch-like stitches which wind from the front around to the back yoke. Keira's favourite thing about the dress is it's roomy side pockets, which are currently being used to store marigold seeds. There's something so clean and comforting about that sky-blue colour, I think.

In other news- I've been thinking a lot about knitting lately, and am trying to decide which design to choose from Quince and Co. All the patterns are so beautiful- the yarns aren't bad, either. I am thinking about this one, or maybe this

Yes, a girl can never have too many pockets! I love Keira’s dress!
I love the cardi too, though that pullover is also sweet, with the fan detail at the front. I just ordered my first quince and co yarn (sparrow, which is their natural coloured linen) and can’t wait to receive it!

heh heh – that Quince cardi has been in my queue for ages, I just love it!! I’d love to make it in Quince yarn and everything.
loooove that little dress so much too… I so think that grownups deserve tunics with these very qualities for being cosy in cold weather and storing seeds. Or cookies. You know, whichever seems more appetizing.

(My earlier comment seems to have been gobbled up. Perhaps I hit a wrong key or my internet dropped out.)
What a delicious blue hue, and a sweet dress you have made.

What a beautiful dress for Keira and what beautiful wool to knit with. In the last month I have mostly been knitting Norwegian house slippers in feltable wool! They are so warm and I am happy with the fact the childrens’ toes are toasty for winter.

Lovely blue dress. You always make things for Keira that I would like in grown-up size!
Love both patterns, but the pullover pips the post with me. Thank you for introducing me to another fab website once again.

Oh yes, a young girl needs pockets. Lovely dress. I like both the knitting patterns, cardigan would probably be most useful but the pullover is very appealling.

adorable little dress, I especially like the embroidered yoke. I have made the camilla in quince and co. osprey. I love it! My favorite hand knit sweater I have made for myself yet. Although, I debated quite a while between the two as well. 😉

Are you asking – the second pullover is more interesting. The yoke hem shall be flattering for sure.
    Love the blue dress.

so sweet dress! lucky little keira to have such a clever mum. i have the anabel cardigan on the needles now although its been quite neglected lately (it’s summer here). it’s so lovely all in garter stitch, which is my favorite knit stitch. i’m sure you would be happy with either pattern.

It’s a beautiful dress, and she wears it so well. I like the embroidery and the flow of the fabric. I like the cardigan a lot. Looking at your other recent entries I have to share how much I admire your creativity and your joy in creation.
