Snowdrops 1

Snowdrops 2

Snowdrops 3
On Sunday, K went to visit my parents. She returned home with three straw and mud-covered eggs, a handful of small and perfect snowdrop flowers, and a tuft of sheep's fleece she found attached to a fence. It feels as though a warmer season is on its way soon.

My friend Lotus sent me the link to this amazing music video. The boy reminds me a bit of Arlo, setting off on an adventure with his driftwood stick and a knitted jacket. Perhaps an Icelandic version of A.

I drew a winner for the Extra Curricular giveaway- Kylie. Thanks for all your comments!

Yes, the season is changing. It is turning cloudy here far in the north, a promise of rain. It will be eight months before seeing snowdrops pushing through the snow here. Happily also still some months before snow too.
Maria (Schorlemรคdchen) sent me the same video. I could feel a lot of tickles of that woolen cardigan (lopapeysa in Icelandic) that the boy wore. My host mother gave me almost similar kind back in my first year in Iceland, very thick and warm. Lovely, but could never wear it against bare skin (:
Imagining the scent of ferns after rain in spring, a wonderful morning moment.
    Happy new week Melissa.

Oh what I would give to be that boy this morning, instead of a middle-aged woman heading off to her office cubicle for a day’s work…
Thanks for making me dream a little!

Oh, we have those flowers in Germany, too. I did not know they exist elsewhere in the world, too! We call them ‘the cups of March’, becaue March is when they bloom. I just looked up the English name and it’s Spring Snow Flake. How pretty!

Beautiful snowdrops and beautiful ferns. I have spent the better part of the day planting ferns from New Zealand, Australian and Papua New Guinea in my garden. They are marvellous, those fronds!
