Giveaway

Trees2

Cards 2

Hello! Hope you are well today. I thought I might have a little giveaway here because I haven't had one in a while, and it's fun. Also, I turn another year older tomorrow and I always like to give stuff away on my birthday. I have made up two packages to send (to anywhere in the world) and each has a digital print of a collage I made back in the wintertime, a couple of fat quarters from this fabric collection, and a set of watercolour postcards.

For past giveaways, I've suggested leaving a comment telling us about your latest favourite record or film, and I still go back to those posts to find new things to listen to and watch! So if you wouldn't mind doing the same this time, that would be fabulous. What are you enjoying listening to/watching/making?

Thanks for visiting my blog and being generally awesome, lovely readers.

Thought we would reminisce the other day by watching Memento as it was such a clever movie back in the day… yeah nah haha. Tonight we are going to watch paranormal activity – I HATE movies like this but keep seeing the ad and as a curious creature I need to know what happens. He reckons we are going to switch all the lights off… nervous already! Have a lovely birthday – mine is next week and I am dreading it!!!!!

Happy birthday, may you have one that is full of joy! I recently saw the film Even the Rain (También la lluvia), it just came out in Finland though it was released in 2010. If you haven’t seen it yet, I certainly recommend it, it restored my faith in the belief that political can be beautiful, too.

At the minute I’m spellbound by Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, a truly inspiring book. Listening to some new bands with an 80’s feel, Craft Spells, Soft Metals, Wild Nothing, Monks, all beautiful jangly songsters. And loving some period Downton Abbey.

how generous you are. happy birthday tomorrow.
    i’ve just seen
THE EXTRA MAN and it kind of captured me unexpectedly. i can recommend it, it is a film that grows on you, after you have watched it.
then, on the other hand, i’m into JAM&JERUSALEM again. that’s just to clear the head of cobwebs. can’t think of a better remedy to sweep away possible cobwebs, and they are plenty, in the fall… ;)))

Well, one of my favorite bands is the Arctic Monkeys. Their Humbug album is very good. A lot edgier and sexy than some of their earlier stuff, which is also very good.
But something light and fun I am enjoying recently is the girl band from Japan called The Suzan.

Happy Birthday Melissa, my youngest shares this birthday too, he’ll be a big 4 year old tomorrow.
I’m enjoying having the older kids home for the school holidays – we’ve been collecting plastic shopping bags and ironing them together to form pieces that we will sew together and top with a vintage sheet for a waterproof picnic blanket. I got the idea from the Simple, Green, Frugal Co-op blog.
PS: I’m new to your blog and I’m really enjoying working my way through your archives, you’re a seriously talented lady!

Happy Birthday Melissa. Hope you have a lovely day.
I’ve been watching an old BBC Denis Potter series called The Singing Detective during night feeds with Baby B. It’s amazing, unlike much TV around at the moment. It’s like an upbeat version of David Lynch mixed with Hollywood Musicals and a flash of a Harold Pinter play. Great cast too. We’ve been listening to lots of Hello Children Everywhere – a CD of old children’s classic songs from the 50s which are so much better than modern songs for kids. And I’ve been making an Oliver + S Music Box dress for my lovely God daughter. Mrs B x

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A Novel
by Mary Ann Shaffer is the book I’ve enjoyed most recently. Very light and easy to pick up and read when you only have short moments to spare and written in lovely 1940’s post war language with lots of sparkling wit thrown into an interesting view of the Channel Islanders experiences of German occupation, something which is not often considered.
Fave film was My Afternoons with Marguerite, French language, soulful, funny, wistful and Gerard Depardieu, loved it,
