After I wrote about this great cookbook here the other day, the publishers at Weldon Owen Publishing asked if I'd like to hold a giveaway on my blog for another shiny new copy for one of my readers.

I'd just baked some coconut macaroons (you can see them in my first photo above) and last weekend Tom made a red rice dish and both recipes came from the colourful pages of this book. So we're really enjoying it- you will too!

You can find out more details about the book here, or here on Facebook. They've even made a little video to promote it.

The publishers will send the book to the winner, wherever they happen to live in the world. Just leave a comment on this post telling us what's cooking in your kitchen these days.

I'll draw a winner randomly on Monday. Enjoy your weekend!

Our primary schools food and wine festival is coming up next Friday, so tomorrow is a day of experimentation, making toffee apples. I’ve never made them before so hopefully the sugar thermometer I bought today will make the difference between a chewy disaster and cracking perfection. The tasting panel(my children) will undoubtedly let me know.

The last meal I cooked in my kitchen was last night’s dinner: bubble & squeak with fried eggs and a apple, pear & blackberry crumble for dessert. Excellent fall food!
    Your macaroons look delicious!

Would love to give this book to my husband. At the moment I’m cooking stews in the slow cooker with mashed or roasted potatoes, candles on the table and leaves blowing a round in the dark outside. It’s the perfect food for the season here 🙂

Too many two minute noodles and eggs on toast. Lots of art and not enough cooking happening for my children. This mum might cook more with a nice book like that. Or teach the kids a few more recipes other than spag bol and devilled sausages. All the best everyone.

We are still in the transition between fall and winter, so cooking feels a bit jumbled. Last night we ended up with lettuce salad and winter squash curry. Tonight I think it will be pizza with arugula — and whatever veggies need to get eaten…

This book has been on my to-buy list since I read your post about it! What a neat idea.
It’s autumn here in Japan, so we’ve started making soup again: pumpkin is the favourite, closely followed by potato and leek! It’s my partner’s birthday next week, so it’s almost time to concoct a new cake recipe to “bake” in the rice-cooker (I do miss having an oven sometimes, but I try to think of it as an opportunity to test my inventiveness!).
Love your blog Melissa, and I’m getting so much joy out of my new hobby, embroidery (inspired by you!!)
Thanks for being so generous with your ideas and wisdom 🙂

We just had the most satisfying vegan feast Palak Paneer with firm tofu in place of the paneer; a bowl of fresh salad greens and steamed bok choy from the garden drizzled with a chive and ginger dressing accompanied by brown rice.
Followed with chocolate and mint vegan cupcakes.
I have a dear old friend who passes through town often, she is a vegan and I always love to cook for her it gets the mind thinking.
Nothing better than a fabulous cookbook to inspire me with new and amazing dishes too 🙂

These are my favorite recipes and the fact that they combine wonderful art with yummy recipes – can’t beat that. What’s cooking? Mmmmmm… homemade chicken noodle soup since winter has arrived and sniffles abound and some homemade bread (ok, mixed in the machine but baked in the oven).

Every weekend, we have our baking day, where we make bread, muffins, and granola bars for the week – that’s what we’ve been baking lately. We’ve also started having weekly ‘meals’; crockpot meal, pizza night, soup night, and so on. Love it!

Wow, please count me in. I’ve been cooking up some healthy recipes as the weather is turning cooler. I would treasure a new addition to my books. I’ve been cooking up lentil soup, brown buns and even mixing plums and applesauce with no sugar for a great dessert. Both fruits were frozen from local produce. I am going to try a hummus with chickpeas and artichokes this weekend.
