I've been harvesting rhubarb from the garden over the past week or so. I made a rhubarb and vanilla bean tart and the rest was stewed then eaten by the kids for breakfast. Next on my baking list is this amazing-looking rhubarb slice recipe.

It was when I was chopping it this morning that I realised how beautiful the colours of the stalks are- that dark plum pink and the yellowy-green of the sourer parts, and how I've been capturing that colour in a bit of crafting and photography lately. Rhubarbalicious.

How enviable! Rhubarb won’t grow here in Brisbane I am told, as it is too humid. It comes down from the mountains instead, at great expense and is an occasional treat. I can only imagine how delicious that slice will be. 🙂

Gotta love rhubarb, especially in pie form and with ice cream

Try roasting rhubarab with a teaspoon of honey & a teaspoon of rosewater, it’s delicious!

I just love how you find beauty in even the most mundane.
And I’m jealous…our rhubarb is doing really badly this year..

I am a rhubarb addict and my favorite is rhubarb sorbet which I never tried to make myself yet. Or just as a pie with vanilla ice cream

lovely work. I have rhubarb envy and wish I’d frozen some. rhubarb pink is one of my absolute favourite colours and so unique; I have a mind to rummage in my threads for my own homage..

The rhubarb is just coming in in the Northwest, and I will most definitely be trying one of these recipes! Especially if I can find the vanilla bean tart one.
I’m tickled by the way you see the world and its colors!

the colors are gorgeous. i was looking at some rhubarb at the grocery store today but it was so expensive – it is one of the first things to pop up in my garden in the spring but the stalks never turn red so i need to figure that out this year.
