I made some cushion covers for my shop update this week- one is made from some vintage poppy fabric I'd been hoarding, and the other two are from antique kimono coats that I carefully unpicked, although some bits of lining and hand-stitched seams do remain.

The very cheerful daisy plants shown in the first photo are growing along our path and I admire them every day. We used to have some growing by the kitchen window in an old house of ours- I wrote about them once here

I recently read of the death of the Polish poet Wislawa Szymborska, and through that article, I discovered this most beautiful poem of hers, Clouds. You should have a read, if you don't know it already.

Lovely cushion covers and such an awesome poem. Isn’t it cool that it has been translated from a different language but the words still flow so seamlessly? I especially love the bit about “distant, flighty cousins”

I know her darker, war poems but not this. Lovely. As are your friendly poppies.

I love that poem. Whimsical, with meaning, my favorite kind.

You always link to such lovely things. I really enjoyed that poem, and look forward to discovering more of the author’s work.
The pillows are wonderful. The poppy one would look great on my sofa (so tempting…)

I loved all the pillows, the poppy one was so appealing but felt so wrong to me with the artic cold we’re experiencing right now LOL So I let myself tempted with a kimono one 🙂 xoxo
