These are some small embroideries done on wool fabric, with vintage wool embroidery yarns. Both are inspired by old ceramic designs from my collection- the first being a little pot in Crown Lynn's 'springflower' pattern (my parents' wedding set) and the second based on my favourite bowl that I've never used- I don't know the pattern name but it's by Johnson Bros.

It was nice to hear your clover stories yesterday- I will have to have a better look now that I know the four-leaved variety is really out there. Yesterday turned out to be quite an unlucky one for me (actually, only mildly unlucky in the scheme of things) which I am putting down to lack of sleep. I spilled coffee all over an embroidery I had just finished, tripped over, dropped my son's icecream cone on the pavement and smashed our car's front right light into the back of a truck. The truck, incidently, was fine, but sadly I had quite an audience enjoying my clumsy driving.

Here are some cheering things:

I love these small paintings by Tiel and they make me want to do some painting myself

This house (belonging to Nanette from Rummage) is pretty inspiring, don't you think?

I really love these knits by Nicole… and in Wellington you could wear them all year around.

See you tomorrow!

Oh no! I hope you’ve caught up on some sleep. I do hope you are making something for your shop with the second embroidery. Until recently I had a plate with the same pattern, my favorite too. It came to an unfortunate end when a ball was bounced in the kitchen by a small boy and I would love a reminder of it. So pretty.

Funny to have such an unlucky day when you had 4-leaf clovers on the brain. I hope that today is more cheery!
Thank you so much for linking to my knits, I’m so flattered! You know how much I love your work. These wooly embroideries are so pretty. I especially like the one on the pale grey herringbone.

Today I called the ecostore inquiry line from oz. It went thru to NZ, and I asked about suppliers here. I told the man on the phone I saw it in a pic on yr blog, and also advertised on downtoearth blog in qld, oz. I said you should get a free delivery of detergent, like the qld lady did for her pic!! He said he’d look up yr blog “tiny happy in wellington”, as I told him, so if he doesn’t email you, email him! I found the detergent, shampoo and conditioner good from my local supermarket, and I was looking for body and face cream, no harsh stuff in it. Maybe you know one? So, sorry you had a bad day, but I put in a good word for you, and I hope you get a delivery of a years’ washing up stuff. I am always looking out for very mild cleaners and personal products, with no fragrances.

Ahhw. That sucks. I hope you have a better day today. A very very good one, to make up for it. I love the simplicity of the second embroidery.
That house is inspiring! Thanks for the links!

    what a horrible day :o(
It does sound like lack of sleep to me. Hope your car is fixed without costing too much and what if you put the rest of that embroidery in coffee like tea dying?
Hoping today is FAR BETTER than yesterday. :o)
