Felt bird

A place for fairies and magic potions: a small shelf in our garden wall which is otherwise covered in ferns and ivy. We have some paua-shells holding tea light candles for now, tucked away and waiting for a summer's evening party.

It's the season for making Christmassy stuff. The kids and I decorated our tree the other day and I found a set of wool felt birds, sewn last year. Here's the pattern, in case you feel like making some.

Thank you to Jane who included an extract from my book in the latest issue of her online publication Sweet Living Magazine. You can see the issue here– my project is on page 46.

Hope your weekend is a relaxing one.

thank you again – i made some of these little birds last year for our tree. My five year old son had helped make salt dough ornaments and we painted them gold with acrylic paint. With the little felt birds and the gold shapes we didn’t need anything else and were very pleased with our homemade decorations.

LOVELY! Both, the nook outside and the little birdie… I just popped in to say how much I love and cherrish your book. I’ve been a reader for some years now (a mostly silnet one) and am now really, really in love with your (first) book. And when I write REALLY, then I mean it 😉 I love the subtle colors, your calm, beautiful, style rich with texture and story and mindfulness and I’d say about every SINGLE project makes me longing to throw away everything I should do during my day, and just to sit down with fabric and needles and your book… I hope the time will come when I’ be able to make some things (I made your recycled sweater, two times now already, out of my own old shirts and with ribbing out of two dicarded Tees from my closet) Well… I just wanted you to know that there’s a girl down there in Switzerland who’s a huge fan of your work and who wishes you a peaceful and great weekend too
    be blessed
