I love old things. Especially household items. Here are two of my most recent finds, mostly acquired for their labels, if I'm being perfectly honest.

– an old Fanta bottle. It's made from really thick, heavy glass and I found it last night walking home along our road. Council workers had cut back a lot of overgrowth, and it was peeking out of some clay.

– Naval sheets. Not sure what is 'naval' about them exactly, but they are soft brushed cotton sheets still in original packaging complete with paper label.

*** unrelated but happy news: Felicia has announced the dates for the next Craft Sessions, to give people plenty of time to make arrangements. Looking forward to it already. ***

I really like the sheet. I wish more people liked them, there are so many about. I have so many purchased from op shops that I resorted to crocheting an edge around them and using them as a tablecloth. They look really lovely underneath a decorated small tray cloth.

I think perhaps we’ve just learned that even the good folk of the navy like to sleep on florals.

Love the old Fanta bottle! I remember them fondly – I especially loved the turquoise label and the thick glass “stripes”.

I collect labels, old scrap images, and the like as well. It is nice to keep them all together in a book – a little curated collection!
I hope you are enjoying the warmth and all of your flowers. We have snow.
    Best Regards,
    Maribeth

nice idea, catherine! i’m afraid that crocheting an edge around these might be beyond my skills/patience! 😉

yes! that’s exactly them- so thick with those sturdy stripes around the bottom. i don’t remember them at all from childhood- just the plastic ones, which are not as interesting in any way.

Your fudge recipe has just saved me….I needed something very quick for my child to take to share with classmates (a fall down some steps stopped my original shortbread plans). This is in fridge chilling now…whew!
