What's the book all about? It's a collection of 25 original projects, with instructions and a pocket at the back of the book containing all the tissue paper patterns you'll need to make them. Most patterns are for clothes, bags and toys for kids aged newborn to 10 years. But there is also the pattern for the pleated tote bag you see above.

You can also find it here on etsy, felt, or directly (e-book or print version) from my publisher.

Happy weekend! We will be celebrating a family birthday, standing on a soccer field, and staying close to the fire at all other times.

I met Melissa through slightly less usual circumstances last year, and have followed her writing since then. It’s taken me to posts and sites I would probably not have stumbled on. Very eclectic, Melissa! Now I’m retired, I finally have time for sewing and crafts and your book would be an inspiration for that.

Time to comment. I have been popping over to Tiny Happy at intervals for a few years now. You may remember I contacted you once to see if you were related to the Wastneys who lived in Golden Bay, where my family lived for a time. Currently I am mum to four, wife to himself, servant to four felines and mistress of three canines! We live on a lifestyle block, have several rentals (himself is a capitalist), and spend our days running children and himself to Drs, spinning spuds at markets and a lot of other carrying on. Spending time in Golden Bay had a huge impact on me, and while I am pretty straitlaced, himself has always said he thought I was “pretty alternative” when we met! Must have been a challenge for a hardened farming fella, but he seems to like it. I would love to expand my “alternative” self, but right now life is too harried to do more than fall in love with, and collect, vintage clothing, curtains and bits and pieces – oh, and visit Waitati!! One day …. In the mean time I surreptitiously spend some time here and “get my fix”. Thank you so much, you are braver than me, I am too chicken yet to expose the me I want to be!!
