I ordered some of my favourite cards- these recycled ones, made by my friend Caireen. They arrived from Scotland this week, and C had wrapped my parcel in these pages from the latest Gudrun Sjoden catalogue. I have a deep love for this Scandinavian designer, and often go and gaze longingly at the images on the website. Wishing my NZ dollars translated into just a few more kroner. The shop sells really beautiful clothing, ethically-made, and homewares, too. And proceeds of the profits go to different environmental campaigns. The colours, the shoes and the styling .. everything. I think you'll like it too, if you have a look.

Have a great weekend- I have a busy one coming up with cafe work and a cake stall to run. Deep breath.

I love the Gudrun Sjoden! Very interesting, reminds me a tiny bit of the American Free People, whom you should never spend any money on b/c most of its very cheaply created, but GREAT ideas!

“Scandi’s” definitely “do” have GREAT DESIGN and STYLE (and a real eye for detail!) . . . I think us Kiwi’s can learn alot from them in those departments!!

I have taken a deep breath and ordered from GS in the past – it is really worth it, because I notice each time I put her clothing on it is like a conscious treat – you definitely get full value – I have a grey dress I love and people stop me and still give comments altho it is 3 years old! ps I am sitting here in my GS organic nightdress which was xmas treat to myself, and it really elevates from the norm, take the plunge if you can!! I treat myself to one item each season – I reacon that as everything else is from charity shops it sort of balances out the cost?!! I love every piece and the quality is fantastic – knowing that it is eco/responsibly traded too is the icing on the cake – go on treat yourself! 😀

I love GS, how fabulous to have a reason to go and look at the site again. When I was in Sweden a couple years ago I was wandering along in the old part of Stockholm and just stopped dead in front of the window of the shop there. Sadly it was just at the change of seasons and they didn’t have a lot of anything left, and what they did was the wrong season for coming back to NZ. Plus of course the prices and the NZ dollar… So I left empty handed but I still love the idea and the colours and the drape of the clothes. When I win the lottery I’m going back and buying up large.
