Easter 2

Easter 1

This is a little paper-cut I made while I was procrastinating over other work I should have been doing. I've long admired the beautiful scherenschnitte works of Amy Karol and Elsita Mora and couldn't resist trying it myself. I don't think I have the finecutting skills or patience to make really complicated papercuts but this small one was fun. I found the pattern in an old craft book of mine ('American Country', Time-Life Publishers, 1989.)

Wishing you a happy Easter holiday if you celebrate it, dear blog
friends. I hope to have a rest, hang out with lots of family and eat chocolate. Hope you can too.

Great paper cutouts – I’ve planning on doing some snowflakes this winter too. Enjoy the Easter break – the guy with the fluffy big ears will be making an appearance at our place on Sunday with lots of chocolate for all…..

Hey M, loving the papercut. I, too, have often admired the paper cuts on Elsitas blog but I’m pretty sure I have neither the patience or skill to do anything near as beautiful. Yours on the other hand is super lovely. Well done!

the papercut is just beautiful Melissa, I don’t know if I would even have patience for that 🙂 I laughed out loud when I saw your pile of books – I have that Annie Leibovitz book at home at the moment from the library too, I was reading it this morning. I did a post about World Sweet World finishing up and you can see the book in that photo.. small worlds. Happy Easter and chocolate eating! Joanna x

yes- we do do the egg and bunny thing although it is a bit half-hearted which i suppose is just what you get, being in the southern hemisphere, but still clinging to northern traditions.
