Happy fourth birthday to my blog! I can't believe i've been doing this blogging thing most days for the past four years, but I love it and don't want to stop just yet. Thank you very much for visiting me and for all the emails and comments and real mail you send my way. This blog has really enriched my life. I mean it.

So, to say thank you, I thought I'd offer a small giveaway. I recently bought a copy of this book, The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin and it's great! It's so nicely put together (including illustrations by Emily Martin) and is chocoblock with ideas and advice about selling your crafts and artwork. Now i've finished reading it, I thought I should pass it along to someone else who might enjoy it. I'll package it up with a set of my newly-printed watercolour postcards and another small handmade something.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this post, telling me something about yourself- anything you like but it would be interesting to hear what music you are enjoying these days. Thank you again for reading my blog and supporting my work over the past four years.

p.s. I'll send the parcel anywhere in the world, and i'll leave this open until Monday morning. Have a good weekend!

Congratulations and Thank You! 🙂 I’ve been enjoying your blog for two years 🙂 My favourite music right now is both albums of Charlotte Gainsbourg and also the album of Flight of the Conchords :)Thanks to You I also discovered M. Ward, I even went to see him 🙂 I am also waiting for July to hear Muse which is another of my favourites, their music makes me think of revolution, a feeling that I can just stand up and achieve anything I want 🙂

Melissa, happy 4th blog anniversery. I have enjoyed your blog for almost as long as it has been up. I enjoy crafting so much that i made it my part time job on the week-ends and travel around to nearby towns to sell at craft shows. ( dolls- jewelry, wreaths and just about everything else)As for music i like to listen to everything except rock. Looking forward to another 4 years of Tiny Happy.

Ive been reading your blog about a year now I guess. Maybe more, its hard to keep track of these things. Anyway, its nice to just drop in every once in a while and see what is going on out there outside my work-from-home world (which can sometimes be quite islotating).

    Hi Melissa
First of all, I would like to thank you for all the eye candy you provide. I love visiting your blog to see the inventive things you come up with. Your work is very pretty.
I have been quilting for 30+ years and working with wool @ 6 years. Since I do alot of embroidery on the penny rugs, I am branching out into more and more of the embroidery and embellishing. I think for me, it was when I realized I am supposed to have fun with my crafts, that I really started to strive to learn new techniques aand experiment with different fibers, buttons, and beads. I have been known to strike up conversations with complete strangers and offer to teach them how to quilt! I also knit, crochet, make cold processed soap, my own laundry detergent, raise chickens (I have 5 bantams in my sewing room in a cage I clean every day…they are only 3 weeks old), horses, mini horses, the neighbor cat (she is lactating and is neglected by her owner). I love animals.
As far as reading, I really enjoy quilting novels, books that have story lines that take place in the 1950’s and before. I don’t like romance novels. I love country music…especially Gary Allen. I do not like rap at all.
I would like to build a bucket list of things I want to accomplish before I die but keep putting it off! You are having a fun giveaway, thank you, Elaine

I’m going to have to go back and read all of your blog comments for new music ideas. I’m in Anais Mitchell right now.

i think you should of had a party….it’s a big deal turning four!
However let me digress, congratulations on such a lovely and inspiring blog, i have enjoyed many moments in your creative life. As a very frustrated creative type, with many a crafty skill and ability laying dormant within me, i turn to your blog for creative inspiration in the everyday which reminds me that all is not lost and there is beauty in many things.

Hi Melissa. Love yer blog. Love yer products on Esty. Also read your mum’s blog and I do NOT know how she manages to turn out so many beautiful quilts goddamn it while I’m still struggling to finish my first big one lol.
I’m on maternity leave at the moment. So of course although I’m off work my crafiness is very intermittent … if only I could master knitting and breastfeeding at the same time I’d be sorted!
However I have been enjoying some new music in the evenings whilst working on a knitted blanket for my sisters new baby (due on Wednesday!) Do you like Joanna Newsome? She has a new album out. Also I came across Ellie Goulding (Lights) which is great … stumbled on it completely by chance as I’m not tuned in to charts or anything. I am in awe of Idris Elba who is playing the lead role in the crime drama (UK) Luther and the title music is called Paradise Circus from Massive Attack (Heligoland). Last but not least is another gem I came across: Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo (from your half of the world). I love this band! The single Nostalgia is the title music from Wallander. What’s Wallander? Another crime drama, this one set in Sweden … based on the books by Henning Mankel. Our Kenneth Branagh (darhhhling!) plays Wallander.
    Isn’t the Internet wonderful? 🙂

I have promised myself time to listen again to Nabucco by Verdi although I know next to nothing about opera!
