This is a free-form embroidery I finished this week- it's called 'growth'.

I've been thinking lots lately about water and the ocean.

Have a great weekend.

The whale remind me of this band I have been listening to a lot lately- Noah and the Whale. I think you would like them.
    Lovely embroidery!

It seems that our oceans and the things that live in it are having abit of a hard-time at the moment:- ie. oil spills, slaughter of whales, over-fishing . . . . we sooo much need to look after our oceans – the life of the planet!!

I had occassion to boast a couple of weeks ago, about the pretty needle-wallet that you sent me when I bought a little dress from you ages ago. That little needle-wallet had quite a few fans at Sewjourn, I can tell you (all of whom are familiar with your work and read your blog)! I completely exaggerated your kind and generous gesture, of course, so now they all think we’re mates. One does what one must… ;P

I lovee the top photo! I always draw strange things like that in my sketchbook but I never thought of stitching my drawings the way you do, now I definitely will. I love your blog I check it everyday 🙂 I love all you posts and actually mentioned your blog in a post http://loveclayblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/inspiration.html

I’ve really been meaning to learn embroidery- I love the idea of the “free flow” and am def in love with this piece (I have quite a fondness for whales and botanica)! Great, simple, beautiful piece; thank you for sharing:)
