Violet 1

Violet 2

Violet 3

More violets. Because i like them. These are some things I made for my etsy shop this week: some little shoes, and a brass locket with some embroidered flowers inside.

I'm feeling distracted today- I don't know why. Might have something to do with drinking too much coffee, or perhaps listening to the news updates about Christchurch. Hope you're all okay, down there.

I'm loving this blog by Sarah Laing at the moment- Let Me Be Frank. She is a Frank Sargeson fellow writer-in-residence and mother of three- and her posts speak to me.

I'm still obsessively listening to this album by Sufjan Stevens. It's very good.

Hope you're having a nice Wednesday!

I can’t speak for everyone down here, but I did go into the city, today, and there’s a real sense of people trying to get back to normal. Still cordoned off areas, and people without homes, but lots of shops and homes have been spared. I just hope everyone gets what they require (money, shelter, support, etc) to get their lives back up and running.
As for your post – thanks so much for the link to Sarah Laing’s blog – that’s great – I studied post-grad English and can think of a few friends I’ll be passing that link onto.

I’ve been into the ChCh CBD today (running errands), still lots of cordoned off areas. Not wanting to venture far from home right now, preferring to be where the family is. Still getting aftershocks too. Still, crafting is a welcome distraction and I’m loving your violets, the purple is so intense.

Oh my, what loveliness you create! Do you ever sell the lockets? That would probably make me happy everyday, wearing it around my neck. And those baby slippers, so sweet.

The necklace is so very lovely! Your baby shoes are so sweet…this pair and the last pair you posted kind of make me wish we had some tiny feet to put them on…

I am a huge Sarah laing fan. I have even read both her books. Loved coming up roses. Probably one of my fav books of recent times. It ‘spoke’ to me so I understand what you mean.

Thanks for the shout-out, Melissa! You are a very popular lady. And the violets are beautiful – I’d like a pendant for my Violet.
