Clover 3

Clover 1

Clover 2

I wanted to make a birthday gift for a friend, so I got one of my illustrations printed on to cards, and made her up a set with envelopes. The illustration was inspired by my slightly guilty feelings about the spring garden: whenever I look out of the kitchen window, I think about how i must do some weeding. But for now I'm getting inspired by all the clover leaves, so they can happily stay there a bit longer.

I’ve been meaning to ask too, where do you get your cards printed? I really like this one. Everytime I think I’ll get a chance to pull some weeds, it rains again. I’m sure they’ll wait for us 🙂

    they’re beautiful, melissa!
and i love an untidy spring garden — all the weeds are beautiful that time of year when they’re growing everywhere, this way and that. don’t feel guilty. i hereby absolve you of all weedy-spring-garden-guilt!

I hate to be an old bore but the weeds are oxalis which are better in one way as they flower but there is no good luck in finding a four leaved oxalis.

The bonus of yellow flowering oxalis (only one really) is, that it will give a good yellow dye on wool. Good luck…
