Walk 1

Walk 2

Walk 3

Walk 4

Walk 5

Here are some photos I took whilst walking along the track in this National Park yesterday. It was one of those extremely bright and shiny days- everything seemed to glow in the sunlight. It's lovely being able to take the children walking now that their legs are a bit longer- even though a little bit of chocolate was still required as an incentive. As well as the golden-sand beach at the end, of course.

I love how you say ‘now that their legs are a bit longer’.
We went here on our honeymoon, 25 years ago next week!

oh it looks beautiful! What an incentive – the beach that is, oh well, lets be honest the chocolate too!
My boy 4 is an amazing walker and I am so afraid that my boy 1 won’t be! I guess we have to just keep at it!
    Beautiful pics.

Great pics Melissa – such beautiful NZ scenery – landscapes we will very much miss when we move to Belgium. Also looking forward to the days when my two girls can handle bigger walks.

Also just noticed you are reading A History of Love – such a beautiful book – have you read anything by her husband – Jonathan Safran Foer? One of my favourite books that I read around the same time as History of Love is one called What I Loved by Siri Hustvedt.

Our Teachers College class 1980 tramped here in rain and snow on high ridges in FEB! A real experience.
Your photos are very relaxing and peaceful, Melissa!!

That looks like a truly blissful day and that sea is an astonishing coour. I’m yearning for the sea at the moment. It wont be quite as warm here as it looks there though.

I have never been to new zeland, but some of those pictures reminded me of some of the most beautiful beaches of Algarve (in Portugal), with the pine trees and such bright sand and sea and shine in general… only in this places you don’t see land in the other side of the water. Actually, I even got quite confused by your pictures before going to see the link about the park, because all of the landscape looked like an ocean beach scenery but then the land on the other side made me think of rivers and lakes.
By the way, I love your blog =)
PS- I haven’t added a link to a site/picture of the said beaches in Algarve, because I haven’t found any good ones online. Every single picture available seems to have a hotel in it… maybe I’ll take one myself next summer or find one somewhere around the house one of this days.
