Chamomile 3

Chamomile 1

Chamomile 4

Chamomile 2

A kind friend, Susie, brought me some herb plants the other day, including this chamomile. I had to capture the way it was shining in the sun before I planted it into the garden. Chamomile always makes me think of Scandinavia, and also those Timotei ads from the 1980's. But I love drinking chamomile tea, so I'm looking forward to making my own from the dried flowers.

Susie's chamomile inspired me to make a locket for this week's shop update with some chamomile flowers inside- albeit very, very tiny ones.

Sweet tiny stitches. I have not had a cup of chamomile tea in ages. It would probably be nice on these cold nights we are having now in New England (not you, though, with all your lovely spring flowers!).

We grew chamomile 2 summers ago and it reseeded itself in the garden this year, I hope yours does too! I make an iced chamomile tea in the summer with fresh chamomile flowers and mint (and lemon verbena if you can find a plant). It has a lovely color an flavor.

If we really altered the environment to which we have become such slaves, then we should be really Gods in ourselves, not follow anybody.

Beautiful Mel. I love seeing masses of wild chamomile. I remember that shampoo! It smelt so nice. I wish we could still get it lol.

I love how chamomile flowers look, with their protruding little yellow “tummies” and tucked-in white petals. Your embroidery is darling!
I’m with Angela, I wish we could still buy Timotei shampoo.

I remember when I was little in Denmark. My Mom and I would go to the lake to feed the swans and pick chamomile for tea. I need to find a plant too, as I love chamomile tea.
    Lovely locket!

I can’t find the locket in the shop, is it gone already?? Just beautiful. I’m growing Roman Chamomile at the moment and it’s just starting to bud.

I remember those Timotei ads. Was it Laura Dern? Or some other Nordic blonde…
Lovely embroidery as always. I would love to do some embroidery.
I have just linked to your blog on my (new) blog, I hope you don’t mind. It was to do with bread making… All this linking and protocol is new to me, sorry!
