Bottle 1

Bottle 2

Bottle 3
We have a bottle brush tree growing like crazy in our garden at the moment- aren't the flowers kind of outrageous? It's not a tree I'd think of to plant myself, but now I have one, I really like it. It's covered in bees and smells gorgeous, and I love the seed pods that grow on the branches and look like tiny wooden bells.

I found some vintage barkcloth in my local op-shop recently that made me think instantly of bottle-brush flowers. I made a bag from it which is part of my etsy shop update today.

Hope you're having a good Wednesday, so far!

I love your bags. I keep thinking that I’ll teach myself to make them, but I think it’s time for me to get realistic and buy one of yours, hehe.

I love those flowers! I guess they’re almost entirely a New Zealand/Australia plant, which explains why I’ve never seen them here in the states.
Like the bag, too. Very nice.

Bottle-brush nectar is lovely and sweet. As a kid I loved to find a freshly opened spray and suck the nectar out of the base of all the tiny little flowers.

Greetings from a dark winter morning with the moon still up in the sky reflecting shadows over the snow landscapes.
This made me warm inside as the wind and a small storm is about to begin. Those flowers might well grow in Moomin valley (:
Thank you so much for mentioning my work in your last post. So glad to know to be inside the pages with you! Cannot wait to get the issue in my hands soon.
    Cups of tea dear Melissa!

Those flowers remind me of something out of Dr Suess! Here in Nova Scotia, Canada I just put my garden to bed for winter… there wasn’t anything like a bottle brush in sight! Thanks for the exotic glimpse of summer.

Beautiful. I have never seen a plant like that. I love your bag, makes me want to have one. We are – 27 degrees C. with the wind chill, so your area looks very inviting.

The smell of bottle brush reminds me of my Grandmas’s garden in Euroa, (Victoria). It is a very old memory.
