things i made jan-june 2010, originally uploaded by tiny happy.

I've been thinking about 2010, and how it was quite a busy one and somewhat stressful at times. But, looking through my flickr account (which I use as a kind of record of my projects) I see that a lot of that said busy-ness took place in my workroom! Here are some of my favourite projects finished in the first half of the year (I'll post the remaining half tomorrow.)

This year I'd like to make more clothes for the children and I and, if i can find the time, do some more embroidery. I'm also hoping to take a class to learn a new craft when the term starts again.

What do you have in mind for this fresh new year?

Happy new year Melissa. Wow such a beautiful collection that you have crafted. Very busy!
I am going to take a sewing course through school to learn how to turn some of my retro patterns into actual clothes. I would also like to travel some more- not sure here just yet.
I hope you and the family are having a fabulous break x

What beautiful creations! I’m going to get back into bread making in a big way, start a little crafty girls group with some dear friends (and nice strangers!) and be grateful for the lovely life I have. Happy 2011!

What a lovely collection you have there! Your work is absolutely beautiful.
This year, I’m hoping to learn to quilt and discover new bookbinding methods – I’ve become enamored with cloth-covered books, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with handmade paper, and different paper dying techniques! There’s a whole world of bookbinding out there that I still don’t know about.
Look forward to seeing part two in your favourite projects collection! Have a lovely day, Melissa.

A great reminder of your creations- lovely work!
Like you, I’d like to make more clothing for my children, but I’d also like to sew more clothing for me and gain a bit of confidence in generally fitting clothes properly.

I am working hard at losing weight so hoping to make some new clothes. Also into embroidery – I bought a really awesome book just before Christmas off Book Depository called Doodle stitching, I have picked up some plain stretch n gros and little tshirts and hope to give all my pregnant friends some embroidered bits and pieces. Also keen to knit some baby hats – quite similar to the Christmas ones Soulemama made… I have only managed scarves and squares before so we shall see hehe!

I hope my turn to open my e-shop to propose my dressed branches, my paintings, my drawed pebbles… and give pleasure with making me happy in the same time. As you I suppose.

what do you think you’ll take your class in? I have a list in a notebook of different classes I evenetually would like to go to. perfum making would be a wonderful ‘craft’ to learn.
The montage is lovely and it’s nice to see the different things you’ve made. I only started following tiny happy in 2010 so I don’t recognise some of these. I’m sure if you did montages of everything you made there would be much more! You’re so prolific!

A wonderful record Melissa. I love seeing everything together, as your style and vision becomes quite evident. As you have likely gathered from my blog, (re)learning to draw and paint is high on my list of creative goals, as is making more soft fabric sculpture. I await tomorrow’s collage!

I’ve followed your blog all year and recognize all these pieces you have created. I have been very busy this year with work and studying for my certification to be a personal trainer. Your blog always reminds me how much I love creating things. My photo list would be very short, but you keep the passion of creating going in my life.
    Thanks for your blog,
    Dwan
