Cosmos 1

Cosmos 3

Cosmos 2
Cosmos
The cosmos flowering continues unabated in the garden, and I couldn't resist bringing some inside to paint. I matched them up with some more favourite plants, (none of them seasonally accurate, but never mind that) and got them printed into cards for my etsy shop. I like their smooth and shiny surfaces- the backs are matte for writing on, though. Quite important in my opinion.

The last photo above is of some feijoa fruits from my parents' orchard. I'm pretty excited that it's feijoa season again, and intend to eat lots over the weekend. What a golden time of year this is.

Have a great weekend yourselves, blog friends.

I love your new cards! I visited your shop just recently, looking for cards, so this is great news 🙂
I am going to try to grow cosmos this year. They are such a pretty whimsical looking flower. I’ve never tried a feijoas. Going to your wiki link to read up.
This time of year near the solstice, on both sides of the equator, is such an amazing time.

Melissa, those cards are gorgeous! I haven’t had any feijoas yet, but I’m planning to gorge myself on them (and then make lots of feijoa cake, ice cream and chutney!)
    Happy weekend to you x

i have never tried one of those fruits but i am sure they would taste as good as they look. Your cards are wonderful. I caught a glimpse of a new print you are working on a spoonflower and almost died. I loved it so.

Yum! The feijoas would never survive here in Montana-gets WAY below 16 degrees F. They certainly look yummy, though!

We have been living on feijoas for the past 2 weeks. My girls has a serious addiction to these fruit, she literally has them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh and of course snacks in between. Crazy kid.
