Here are some favourite items found on my travels lately. The migrating birds chart (I've long coveted an antique one of these) was found at the Recycling Centre – it's just a poster that someone removed from the inside of an old National Geographic magazine, but I'm enjoying it being on the wall and have learned about all sorts of American birds, too. The tiny little glasses came from the same place, for a total of about 50 cents each, I think, and I had to get them even though we rarely have a bottle of spirits in the house these days. They have galleons painted on them. How could I leave them there?

And the last photo above shows a length of fabric I bought from my local antiques store. It's a drapey kind of cotton/rayon. I'm trying to decide what sort of dress it needs to be made into. I'll be sure to report back soon.

Lovely finds Melissa – I think I saw that fabric too and it caught my eye – my mum used to have a similar patterned skirt when I was about 4! ps. we put tea lights instead of booze in our little shot glasses. Hope you are having a good week, K

Love the bird chart! Oregon is on the Pacific Flyway, and here in our area over 350 bird species have been recorded. I love to watch both the Canada Geese and the Snow Geese in the spring when there are 1000’s over nighting in the farmers’ fields.
Looking forward to seeing your new dress with that fabric.

holy moly, great finds!! I love it when the op shops pulls through! You should make a sweet 4o’s style dress with that fabric. Or if you were not into that you could just make a nice drapy t shirt kind of dress. 🙂
