A beautiful winters' day here today. Feels more like spring, really. I made some things from vintage linen for my shop update today. The willow branch linen was a gift from Louana, thank you!

I wrote a little about knitting yesterday. I've decided to knit this, and have ordered the quince yarn for it. I thought I'd better start with something small. More likely to have success, I feel. There are so many beautiful knitting sites out there, it makes me a little bit crazy when I start browsing through them. Like I could sink into my computer screen and never come out again.

If Helen Reddy was still writing songs I bet she could write a cracker of a song about a person who sinks through the computer screen into some delicious knitting site.

Ah yes, I feel that way often when it comes to all the beautiful things to be found online, whether it’s knitting patterns and yarn or the black hole that is known as Pinterest (which I love). Just popped over to the shop and saw your gorgeous rose print that you made into a sweet little pouch. How lovely!

It feels like spring here too and I am missing winter. I long to be wrapped in my coat with a thick scarf. Today I wore but a few light layers… that and one of your bird brooches. Looking at the brooches in this post, I may have to pick up another sometime soon.

Do you know Ravelry allready? It has the whole knitting world on internet together and has a great forum and search engine for knitting patterns, yarns and everything. You may know it allready. Or not. And maybe you don’t want to know it because it will fuel an addiction. 😉

I feel the same way. So many great ideas out there that I limit my blog reading now just not to be overwhelmed.

Ooh, can’t wait to see what colour you chose! And Dorien is right, Ravelry is VERY dangerous (but wonderful).

I loved the Camilla Kid pattern. I made it for Matthew in yellow because it his favorite color but I really wanted to make it in grey. Which one of your kids are you going to make it for? It goes pretty quickly because of the aran yarn.
Knitting is so fun and I am always conflicted about whether I should be sewing or knitting every night. Funny, eh? Ravelry gives me that feeling you speak of. It is one of my most favorite places to visit.
I love the things you have been making lately especially the stamps and these pieces with vintage linens. I have been wanting to do a special piece with embroidered linens but, haven’t yet started.
I best be getting off the computer else I’ll be late for book club.
    Nice chatting with you;)

Are you a member of Ravelry Melissa? Its such a great site. I love being able to see other people’s versions of different patterns and their modifications. And everyone’s so helpful, the other night I had a problem finishing my button bands and people in the forum helped me sort it out. I’m flowerpress if you do join and I’ve just worked out you can friend people. Send me a message and we can be ravelry friends!

That will look so good on K. Sigh, my kids refuse to wear anything I knit. The local Hospice shop has done well out of me.

You HAVE to join Ravelry. It’s a massive database of knitting patterns, knitters projects and knitting tips. It’s very well organised and professionally done. It has the advantage of being able to view the garments on real people, and you can read about their experiences knitting the garment, and how they may have adjusted the pattern. Your pattern is right there, 6 people have knit it, or are knitting it currently.
There are no disadvantages – loosing hours searching through the pattern database is no disadvantage in my mind!
