Thank you for all those messages yesterday! It's pretty amazing to have my very own support team, I appreciate it. 

Some new fabric arrived in my letterbox on the weekend, it's the 'climbing trees' print in a linen/cotton canvas that I ordered from Spoonflower, along with some of my other prints. I love this fabric- it's got a great sturdy feel and I think it should be good for lots of projects… I started out with two kid's satchels for my shop update today. Something very pleasing about colourful corduroy too, I reckon.

And, to change the subject dramatically, I'm feeling so happy to be alive today. It's rather shocking how much we take our lives for granted, isn't it?

    thanks lori, i just found out about the recent deaths of two people i used to know at school, from cancer and an accident. feeling so sad for their families and reminded of how fragile our lives really are! x

    You are right, we do take things for granted very eaily, don’t we.. But it’s wonderful on the days when we manage not to!!

    I went to supermarket last night and specially bought a copy of the mag so I could read all about your home – what a lovely article, really enjoyed reading it and lovely pictures also. Congratulations! Yes we must take time out from our busy lives to stop and appreciate how lucky we all are to be here on the planet doing “our thing”.     Hi Melissa,
    I am sitting at home on a very wild rainy day in Auckland. Thursday mornings are my ‘mornings off’ from my two small boys, and a time I can potter in my sewing room and create – divine! A friend told me about your article and i loved it, so nice to see someone so grounded and doing what you love.
    I am on the verge of creating a site where I can sell some of my creations, was it purely the global aspect of etsy you liked? I am tossing up between etsy and felt, any advice?
