We have peas. Lots of them, growing and growing in the vege patch. There are peas at every meal, enough for the neighbours, even going to school in the lunchbox. And the podding job keeps the kids out of trouble for half an hour before dinnertime.

The little green pearls inspired an embroidered print on linen- green pea dots. I'd love to make enough embroidered dot linen for a pea dress. Wouldn't that be great? Hope your Tuesday is going well.

A dotty pea dress would indeed be lovely 😀
My grandfather grew peas and as a child I would help my grandmother to pod them. I can see those little green orbs falling into a cream enamel colander as if it were yesterday!

That would be great and I absolutely adore the idea of your kids podding them to keep out of trouble. I am still getting tomatoes and runner beans and am going to (hopefully) dig up some beets and radishes this week.

That would be so cool to have an embroidered dotty dress. I am so lazy, though, that I would rubber stamp my dots instead.

I love hearing about your spring unfolding, peas and all, while I’m on the opposite end, pulling up the last of my beets, baking squash, and picking crisp rosy apples 🙂

Shelling peas is so much fun and makes me feel calm and connected too. And a pea dress would be absolutely lovely I think.

Man! I have total pea envy! Just yesterday I said to Ash, “imagine if we actually had enough peas ready at the same time to eat them with dinner.” We’ve only had one pod worthy of shelling. Doesn’t help to have a two-year-old gardener that’s a premature picker.
