A handful of recently rained-on spring flowers in yellow and purple. Like miniature sun-faces. I've been doing more wool embroidery and this time was inspired by that bright and buttery yellow.

I embroidered enough wool pieces to make a set of cases for today's shop update. I've been thinking about gift-giving a bit lately, and trying to get organised this year (although I'm sure I must say that every year with no real results.) I'm thinking that it would be nice to make a few presents and buy the rest of them online or at the market.

I saw this little video clip by the sweet Pip yesterday- she shows great ideas for wrapping gifts and has me planning an expedition to the recycling centre to gather bits and bobs for Wrapping Excellence.

Love the wrapping ideas. Last year I wrapped most of my gifts in fabric, furoshiki style. Every time my family unwrapped something I had to tell them the fabric came back to me, but with my craftier friends I tried to pick a fabric they might use. The fabric made beautiful packages and became part wrapping and part present.

Really beautiful flowers and their combinations… And the fabric on the first photo is really lovely. These days I’m wrapping gifts in newspapers with differend letters like Cyrilic, or Japanese… It’s not expensive but it can be really cool. Here you can see how it looks like:

I always think how cosy your home must be. I love those bed covers! And your wool embroidery looks wonderfully rustic – in a very good way!

I realise now – with covetous eyes opened – that the flowery fabric conceals pillows. still coveting! I’m also reading the Julian Barnes..

It’s always a pleasant surprise how effortlessly you tie three photos together. I love the brighter colors that you have been using. No doubt a sign of Spring in your corner of the world! It is nice for those of us to see, who’s days are growing darker and the Autumn colors are already beginning to fade.
