After I wrote about this great cookbook here the other day, the publishers at Weldon Owen Publishing asked if I'd like to hold a giveaway on my blog for another shiny new copy for one of my readers.

I'd just baked some coconut macaroons (you can see them in my first photo above) and last weekend Tom made a red rice dish and both recipes came from the colourful pages of this book. So we're really enjoying it- you will too!

You can find out more details about the book here, or here on Facebook. They've even made a little video to promote it.

The publishers will send the book to the winner, wherever they happen to live in the world. Just leave a comment on this post telling us what's cooking in your kitchen these days.

I'll draw a winner randomly on Monday. Enjoy your weekend!

When I read your last post on this, I checked out the website and now have a huge list of recipes from it that are on my to-make list, so I would be very happy to win this book. Lately I’ve been doing less cooking, and much more baking: providing the yummy baked goods for meetings of a social group makes me feel very useful!

    Hello!
Oh waou – what nice publishers 🙂
I would love to have a copy of this sweet book!
In my mini-me Tokyo apartment (like most Tokyo apartments) we don’t have a regular oven so it can be interesting trying to cook things in a mini toaster oven. Sometimes I see pizza bases in the supermarket that are giant – way too giant for my oven toaster – I wonder who is able to use them! maybe they chop them down to size before putting them in the mini ovens. he he.
I cook lots of salmon, hijiki seaweed salad, okonomiyaki, kinoko no gohan, on western nights I like to make mexican food or taco rice!

In the kitchen right now, a bubbling hot soup boils. I am enjoying the cool spring days and making the most of it still being veggie soup weather. I have a loaf of bread to go with it, fresh from my Mum’s kitchen too.
Love the look of your coconut macaroons. They are a weakness of mine.
    be well,

The book looks great. I would love to have a copy. I could see my girls searching through the pages for things to cook. At present there is a large pot os chicken stock simmering away, cheese resting in-between stages and some carrot cake in the oven. We have had a productive morning so far!! Even got the beef marinading and rice soaking for dinner.

Oh I have been hankering after that book ever since your first post about it. Last night I made the yummiest fish – I crushed a couple of lemongrass stalks (out of my garden) then rubbed them all over the fillets, sprinkled with lime juice salt pepper and fresh parsley (also out of my garden). I set that aside for an hour to rest, and made a white parsley sauce and roasted veggies. A dusting of flour on the fish and a quick saute in a hot pan with some extra virgin olive oil and we sat down to a wonderful meal.

Melissa, am going to make Basque macarons (or MUXU – kisses – as they are called in the region) on the weekend with my son … rustic almond ones, no colours no flavours, but still with the little smooth dome on top. Have just been in the Pays Basque with my aunt and we ate a whole boxful. Missing France and them … so that’s the weekend’s project. Good to be visiting your blog once more after 6 weeks away. x

Looks like a lovely cookbook, would be a great addition to my cookbook library. At the moment I’m enjoying using fresh broad beans from my mum’s garden. My favourite way to use them is in a tomato pasta sauce with penne and garlic croutons on top.

We have just been making the tastiest Zucchini chocolate cake. Of course you can’t taste the zucchini at all even though there is a whole cup of it grated in there, but it is a good one for the kids because it is easy to make, involves grating (which my 4 year old loves), has a vegetable in it AND of course tastes like chocolate -the latter being the most important to adults and kids alike in our household!

We are transitioning to winter here in New Jersey. That means it’s time for soups and roasts. I use whatever veggies I have on hand and the possibilities are endless. One of my favorites to use in soup is kale. Always love your blog for ideas and inspiration! XO from New Jersey.
