Picnic

Full-moon light with rain allowed me to take photos late last night from the front door- I love that manuka tree but it is especially beautiful in the moonlight! Other good things from the last few days include a picnic rug with books set up permanently outside (at least, until the wet weather started) and a crochet-covered stone I got from Margie's shop arriving in the mail- aren't I lucky? It's small and perfectly formed and I can't believe her tiny crochet loops… mad skillz.

Oh, and fruit cake. The best every day cake for children and adults alike, in my opinion. I use this super easy and friendly recipe.

Your Margie stone is so sweet!
Fruitcake eating al fresco sounds delightful. Enjoy the wonderful picnic-weather.

such beautiful photos, melissa. the light on the rug and book (one of my faves!) is glorious. my aversion to anything raisiny has led to an fear of fruit cake but this spicy recipe sounds so tempting (and simple!)i’m going to make a version with dates and apricots.

That picture of the tree looks out of this world. Pink and blue and lime grren. Perfect! I think I would stop what I am doing to look at that tree constantly.

Looks wonderful in your garden. It’s hard to imagine summer on the other side of the world now that winter is on its way in the UK. The cake recipe sounds great and easy too – it doesn’t say what spice to use what did you choose?

lucky you to be enjoying warm weather… i’ve been loving the moon the last few days, but haven’t been able to capture it on camera. it’s fun to think about all the people all over the world enjoying that big, full moon.

That photo is gorgeous! So nice to get a shot under a full-moon. You are a lucky lady, I have always desired one of her crocheted lovelies.
I should add, you inspire me to (try) to create something everyday. There are so many beautiful sites full, heaping really, of beautiful inspiration. There is a reason that I keep coming back here though… it’s calming and you make it all look so easy, so manageable. Thank you for the inspiration.
