Wrap cardy 2

Wrap cardy 1

This is a wraparound cardigan I made for Keira when the autumn chill started creeping in last week. It's made from two old cardigans of mine, but I think they're much nicer like this. I used a chocolate-brown one for the sleeves and one front and a charcoal grey for the remaining pieces. And some red floral bias tape that I've been hoarding for ages. Nice and cosy.

I hope you are keeping warm, or perhaps you're noticing the start of spring where you are. All around us the trees are losing their leaves and the wind is whipping them into a frenzy. Autumn is somewhat dramatic in Wellington.

I will leave you with a gorgeous song I first heard on the radio this week- Dear Friends by Elbow.

Have a lovely weekend!

I really like this piece and the photo with Keira in her ponytail is darling. We are beginning to see spring here, but it is still cool, perfect weather for this wrap around.

So beautiful! I have some old knitwear stashed for similar re-purposing, but was thinking the colours might be a bit drab for my girl. Love how the bias tape brightens this up though! Must add it to my sewing to-do list..

It is always so strange to think that we are experiencing Spring, but others in the world are experiencing fall. It’s almost mystical, as if the other side of the world is in another dimension.
Have a wonderful day. It will be 81 degrees today. We are definitely warming up.

Today was our first really chilly day… windy and raining. We dug through our woolens drawer and dug out mittens, beanies, scarves and wraps. I love the cold and promise of snuggling and cosying up with knitting, books and tea that it brings.
What a beautiful and precious cardi.
    Keep warm

I’ve jus to been in Welly this past weekend and yes, the wind was very autumn-y. Always love the sea being so close in. The Unveiled wedding exhibition at Te Papa was magic too.
