I don't have much finished work to show you today, as I've been busy doing other things and I even noticed a spiderweb across my sewing machine this morning. Oh dear.

Today was golden and sunny, and I went into the city to do some jobs, mooch around and meet my friend Emma for lunch. She introduced me to a Hare Krishna cafe (this one) which was very good. Also pictured above is a beautiful silver-leafed plant I found on the morning walk to school, some sweet vintage embroideries kindly given by Rachelle (thanks again!) and a stack of lovely new fabrics ready to sew (cotton, linen and wools.)

    Beautiful plant and sounds like a good start for the week.
    Here the spring came finally yesterday, and it was truly enjoyed outdoors eating waffles and drinking tea in the harbor.
    This morning finally the small lake behind my window seems that the ice on it might melt and vanish anytime soon.

    we ate out at the HK restaurant in London when we were there, as I have food intolerance to garlic/onions and they don’t use them in cooking – proof that food isn’t bland without them! we still think about that food! cx

    Sounds lovely – aren’t we all having the best weather at the moment! That little embroidery on the left looks so much like a Gerda Bengtsson design, and I have a lingering feeling I’ve stitched it, or at least almost did once! Her designs make my heart sing.

    I think that is called licorice plant or Helichrysum. We can only grow it as an annual here in New England (northeast U.S.) but it grows wild in more tropical climates. Lucky you!! I love to put some in containers with white and purple flowers. It’s nearly time to start planning a few, we are having an unusually early spring season here!
