I had two lucky second-hand finds: an old piece of hand-embroidered linen that was just asking to be made into some baby shoes (I haven't made any of these in ages- I'd almost forgotten how but not quite.)
The other find was an old Japanese painting on cardboard which is currently cheering up the hallway.
Have you heard the new M. Ward album? It's on heavy rotation around here- especially this great song.

Gosh! Those little shoes are adorable… and I wish now to find similar though in my size. I don’t wear slippers, but for ones like these I’d make an exception.

You have the luckiest little ones in your life, you always make such amazing items for them. Have you made those shoes in an adult size yet? I would put them on my feet in a second! They are beautiful, did you embroider the birds yourself? Surely you could! A linen slipper with birds done by your hand, sounds so lovely to me.
Also, I have to say a tiny thank you to you for reminding me (through your previous post)about Anzac Day. It’s the most important day of the year to my husband, and I nearly forgot it!
