I noticed a bit of a mustard-yellow theme going on in today's shop update– I think I must be trying to warm up somehow and thinking golden thoughts. We have old-fashioned printed yellow roses and little gold embroideries- including one I stitched on Mother's Day because the kids gave me a little bottle filled with daisies from the lawn. So, a daisy-pouch was made from the piece, which was stitched onto an old tea-stained mat with a crocheted corner.

Hope you are keeping warm and dry, wherever you are.

Local friends: I will be here on Friday evening, giving a workshop on making bags from 6.15pm till 7. At 7 Fifi Colston will take over and teach a session based on her vintage fabric ideas and creativity. Each session costs $8, and the proceeds will be going to Mary Potter Hospice, and I hear that workshop participants will be given a free pack of vintage fabrics to get them started. Then the next morning you can come along to the Fabricabrac sale to buy lots of lovely vintage sewing stuff. Hooray!

I knew you’d turn that tablecloth into something just lovely! Oh how I wish I lived in Wellington! I’d pop by and take your class, although I’d probably miss that fabricabrac sale, my cupboards are bulging!

I agree with Louana. I don’t need anymore fabric. I am trying to give the stuff away. On another note, I love that mustard yellow colour and funny how its now the ‘in’ colour. I love the little badge and your bags are so delish. I know the workshop will be awesome. Ur a great communicator and very able. Lucky participants. I’m still trying to figure out how I can be in two places at once! haha. Most importantly, have fun. You’re a great lady. Keep being yourself. x

I saw that yellow rose purse and went to check out your shop, only to find I am too late. I have always loved yellow tones, especially ‘mustard’.
