Blanket

IMG_0206

– Bought an old, worn blanket at a fundraising flea market- it's a traditional, cream wool one with blue and yellow stripes along the edges. I plan to sew it into draught stoppers for our big old windows (the idea comes from this book by Lotta Jansdotter)

– This is some coriander I grew. Completely gone to seed! It's so beautiful- fine lace flowers with feathery leaves.

– Happy new week, dear readers.

That sewing book looks lovely – just put a hold on a copy at the library 🙂

Draught stoppers are essential in older houses ! Mind you , if you had any scraps left over , they’d make a lovely small teddybear .

I often (mostly accidentally) let my herbs flower and go to seed. The flowers are so beautiful. Mint is my favourite. You did well to get that blanket. I haven’t seen them in the shops for years.

I think that blanket is commonly known as an ‘Ayrshire’ blanket – cream with stripes along one or two edges? They are very warm.
