Bottles

Cards

I got some cards printed from end-of-summer scenes: a coriander harvest and these colourful asters in old bottles. It's been such a happy time in our new house; every single day I get joy from the plants growing in the garden. I'm feeling very grateful these days.

So I found a bundle of letter and photos from pre-email days, including notes from school friends and letters from Tom from when we first got together. I've set myself a challenge for this coming winter. I want to write + send a note (card, postcard or letter) at least once a week, to an old friend or relative. Viva la snail mail…

p.s. did you know there's a 'snail mail app' for iPhone? Don't know how I feel about that…

You have a wonderful eye for making such ordinary things look rather inspiring.

That snail mail app… makes me want to say ‘why?’
Love that fact that you will be sending real cards and letters though.

Such a good idea. The actual writing, not the app, which seems to be rather missing the point…

Beautiful flowers! We are just getting seed planted for gardens. I love how our seasons change with each others…watching your Spring when we are in Autumn and vise versa. 😉
I have wanted for some time now to do the snail mail once a week and keep forgetting..thanks for the reminder!

I love snail mail and have made it my personal mission (well, really it more just a pleasure I practice) to keep letter writing alive!
I only have a couple friends who return the favour, but I actually delight in the writing of it, even without mailed replies.
Up until recently, my Granny and my children have been exchanging mail…..she is now 90 and unable to write to us, but she still can read our short notes and delights in receiving photos and kids art with our letters!
    have fun writing!!!

What lovely cards! I, too, am sending more cards and letters (pen friends). I think there is nothing more wonderful than receiving a handwritten letter…Unless, it’s writing one. ~ Donna E.
