Giveaway 2

Giveaway 1

Cards 1

I thought it would be nice to start the year with a giveaway – please consider this a small thank you for visiting my blog.

I have three parcels to send out – one with a copy of my book, one with cards and one with a dress I made. I've never worn it but want to gift it to a bright-frock-loving person.

– – – – – – – -

The knee-length dress is handmade from a pattern called 'Socialite' (but I promise you don't have to be one to wear it) and lightweight silk cotton in blue and pink, with a fine geometric print. It has side pockets and is about a 'medium' or NZ size 12, or smaller. It would be great for summer with sandals but also with a long cardy and tights in cooler weather, I reckon.

– – – – – – – -

Sweet and Simple Handmade was published in 2013 and has 25 projects to make for babies and children. All the paper patterns are included in a pocket in the back. You can read more about it here (and you can find it in my shop too).

– – – – – – – -

I have some of photo-cards to send to the third winner. Ferns, lupins, and some favourite Wellington seascapes.

– – – – – – – -

To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment below and tell me/us the music you're enjoying listening to these days. Or a book you recently finished and enjoyed.

I'll send the parcels to anywhere in the world and after drawing 3 names randomly after the weekend, I'll email to work out who would prefer what.
Thanks again for reading and for your support of my work.

Hi Melissa! I started the year listening to the sound of children playing in the snow. We have a great winter here in Romania! To be quite honest I’ve been reading your posts for a few years now and always wanted to see how the things you make really look like 🙂 Happy 2016!

I have been sucked back to my uni days over the last week listening to New Order. Have really enjoyed looking up the old favourites on Spotify 🙂 I picked up a copy of The Fault In Our Stars at our local op shop so that will be next on my reading list. Looking forward to lots more Tiny Happy posts in 2016 🙂 xx

You/Tiny Happy shop were my greatest inspiration when I first started my own Etsy shop in 2011, and you still inspire me so much. So, thank you very much for the giveaway 🙂 I really enjoyed my latest read “The pursuit of love” by Nancy Mitford. Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Hi Melissa, we recently watched the documentary Bella Vita and I loved the soundtrack so much I individually searched all the artists listed in the credits. So Bella Vita soundtrack on repeat here! Enjoying Births Deaths Marriages by Georgia Blain very much… among a million library cook books. Thanks for the chance to win one of your lovely prizes! xx

What lovely gifts-I particularly love the dress; such beautiful colours!
I’ve been listening to a lot of Bob Dylan recently. It’s nice calm music to have on in the background when my little son is playing, it also reminds me of my own childhood.
Book-wise, it’s that time of year where I always read ‘The Summer Book’ by Tove Jansson. We’re in the depths of winter, here in England, and I love to escape for a while to Tove’s cabin on the little island in Finland.

Hello Melissa, what lovely prizes! I have just read Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell and I loved it. It contains a number of different stories (but all connected) all written in a different voice. I have now gone out and bought a few more of his books that I hope to read soon.

Happy new year! I hope this year brings you much joy, happiness and creativity! Thanks for having such a generous give away. To be honest, it’s a good excuse to write to say hello. I really enjoy your blog and Instagram but have been nervous about saying hello.
Anyway, thanks again, all three gifts are truly beautiful! The dress is particularly gorgeous and if it were to come to me I’d love it for a long time and in all weather!

Oops! I forgot the music! Actually I’m really enjoying listening to the ‘Searching for Sugarman’ soundtrack and just finish a book of 3 detective sorties by Paul Auster. I’m new to short stories, being more of a novel lover, but they were great stories. It’s called the New York Trilogy.
What have you been reading / listening too over the summer?

Wohooo, a giveaway!! I am listening to Palbo Casals’ 1936 EMI recording of Bach Suites – I live them, they’ve been perfect during snowy, rainy, freezing, moody days holed up inside working, while gazing out the window. I’ve also been reading Travels with Herodotus, by Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski – very good!!

A cold morning here in London.. And, I am walking in the woods whilst listening to (Sankofa) my music on my iPhone. I bought this CD from an artist while he was playing his instrument (kora) in the park in Barcelona 3 years ago.
The album name is Sankofa, Artist name Yerko Fuenzalida Lorca,
    Website: http://WWW.YERKO.INFO
Since then, I play this album all the time, and I get so much pleasure out of it. So calming and soothing to listen.
I listen to his music every time when I make soap. It gives me so much inspirations. One of my treasure… a wonderful album for life.

    Dear Melissa,
what a wonderful giveaway! Lots of couples around me are having children and I’m looking forward to find some time to craft something sweet for those tiny new people.
I want to share the book I am currently reading. It’s Patty Smith’”M train”- I really love her style of writing and storytelling! It’s very poetic and similar to her lyrics. Her memorys of places she traveled to are framed by her favourite cafés all over the world where she likes to sit down and work or think. I love to read in it at night or with a coffee and some of her music at my kitchen table. Best,
    Jasmin

My boy and I have a long drive to school each morning and another long drive home again. His choice is eclectic but this morning was the band, “Crowded House”, fronted by the Kiwi, Neil Finn and, at the time of this album we’re listening to, his brother, Tim. Other mornings this week, we’ve had Paul Kelly, one of Australia great storyteller songwriters and the Aussie rockers, Powderfinger. It’s been a pretty happy drive cruising along listening to all these great bands. Thanks for opportunity to love something you’ve made, Melissa. It’s always a joy seeing your work.

In the car we are listening to the Cirque Africa CD from the amazing African circus that visited our town in summer. They played swaying African music through the whole performance. Tonight my 12 year old son bought a Clash “London Calling” t-shirt at the night market, making his Dad feel very old, having gone to see them live, on the same album, 35 years ago as a 15 year old who told his mum he was having a sleep over at his friends house!

Dear Melissa, thank you very much for this great giveaway. I am reading your blog for years now. They are two reasons for that: lovely posts and New Zealand. We have been there 11 years ago and since then we are dreaming about our second visit. 🙂
Last Sunday we went again to a concert of group Avtomobili (that’s Slovenian word for Cars) and it was wonderful as always.
Currently I have a book Wild (Cheryl Strayed) on the nightstand. Very impressive story.
