Knit in progress

I don't have much to say really, these days. It feels like I'm almost always working in the office but when I get home there's usually a trusty project waiting.

My current works-in-progress include embroidery work that i'm doing for Loop, and a hand-knit cardigan (this one) from some heathery purplish-grey yarn.

Actually, I think that's why I'm enjoying knitting so much. I'm a terribly slow knitter- there's no chance of me finishing it in a timely fashion at all. But I'm learning to embrace that, and enjoy the slowness. The half-finished knitting project is always waiting patiently, ready to have a few new rows worked or yarn wound.

The 2016 class schedule for The Craft Sessions was published the other day – and it looks amazing! I'm sad not to be going there again this year if for no other reason that to see some of the projects and classes unfold – I mean come on, there's even spoon-carving! You can see the class list here.

I just love your posts and go to your website when my own personal world is falling apart or just too boring for words, because you always inspire me to keep on knitting, embroidering, sewing, cooking, whatever. And that keeps me happy. Thank you!

I am knitting more than sewing lately. I have a young baby (Clover – who you made the baby shoes for) who is often in the front pack, so it is much easier to pick up the knitting and do a couple of rows here and there, than to sit down at the sewing machine. I am also a really slow knitter, but luckily baby things are much quicker to finish so I have actually managed to complete a couple of things.

I think its Slow Knitters Unite…I too am a slow knitter but only make small things, so eventually they are done. I have a postcard stuck on my fridge which says ‘Knitting Forever, Housework whenever…In the rhythm of the needles, there is music for the soul.’
Work does take over your life at times and makes you a bit too tired to do much when you get home. It will pass.
Keep blogging, I enjoy your posts and photos too.
    Thank you.

Like Carol, above, I too go to your website when I need a little reminder of the sweetness and simple beauty of things. Which is pretty frequent. Thank you for your voice of gentleness and reason from far away.
