Giveaway 2

This online journal is ten years old! I find it hard to believe.

Yet in some ways it feels like I've been writing about my projects here forever.

Thank you for dropping by and reading. Thank you for your emails and comments over the years. It's been a lot of fun. I don't know what the future holds for 'tiny happy' – whether I'll keep on writing here or not. I'll just keep going until I get tired of it.

So to celebrate this blog milestone (a decade..!!) I wanted to have a giveaway, because that's always fun.

I have three parcels to send to you, dear readers, to thank you for being part of my blog family. I'll draw three separate winners – they can be from anywhere in the world – and we can work out which is the best parcel for which winner.

+ - + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + -

a) knitting parcel – this includes a bento bag I've made from hand-printed linen (it's the perfect size for socks-in-progress), a skein of beautiful hand-dyed merino yarn (handspun and dyed by my Mum) and two balls of one of my favourite local yarns, Silver Lining merino DK (knits up like this)

b) sewing parcel – this has a length of beautiful vintage cotton fabric, some hand-dyed embroidery threads and a sampler needlebook

c) making for children parcel – a new signed copy of my book and half a metre of 'planting seeds' fabric I designed (it's nice for lining bonnets, baby shoes, etc and you can find the patterns for these in the book)

If you're not really a making-things type of person, I also have some nature badges and postcard sets I can send should your name be drawn.

+ – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + -

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below telling me what you're currently working on – whether it's something you're making or cooking or a book you're reading.

Huge congratulations on this milestone, Melissa! I’ve been reading your blog for about 9 years and I’m so happy to call you my friend. Hurrah for the power of blogging! Your blog never fails to make me smile and put me in a positive, gentle and inspired mood. You are a wonderful person and it shows!
As for my current projects, I’m utterly and completely doll-obsessed so I’ve (slowly) been working on cloth dolls, doll clothes and doll bedding.
I look forward to another decade of successful and pleasurable blogging from your part!

Thank you for 10 years of beautiful words, photos and inspiration M.
I’m always weaving scarves and other fabrics but right now I’m knitting some pretty nice ‘boobs’ for those who need them following surgery and treatment.

It’s been amazing watching your blog and your two children grow. I can’t believe ten years have passed.
I’m about to knit a Pepa Pig jersey for my granddaughter…haven’t done a coloured pattern for a while so there could be some unravelling happening 🙂 …wool only I hope! If my patience gets stretched it will be a homespun cardigan instead that she receives.
Wish me luck and all the best to you and your family. Please keep blogging as I love popping in and being inspired by your lovely crafts.

Hello! Oh this year has been fun! I have built a raised bed garden with picket fence and arbor, my husband is helping me to paint and renovate a space for weaving and enjoying time with friends, and I have been working on a cowl and hat for the winter, outside work, from yarn spun up by a friend and just enjoying life! I hope you are too!

Congratulations, Melissa! I’ve been following (mostly silently) since you were in Sweden, I have no idea how many years ago that was, but my daughter will be turning 8 this year and I remember coveting a pair of your baby shoes for her, so there goes…
Right now, I’m gearing up for the Ravellenic Games (knitting Olympics on Ravelry) with several WIPs that I want to finish, and a hat and a dress to knit from scratch. I just finished reading AS Byatt’s The Children’s Book, which left a strong impression and moved me very much. It is a truly sprawling book, with everything from great artists (but not-so-great parents) to Arts and Crafts, Suffragists, pottery and puppet making and writing, being close to nature, the creation of the V&A, the heartbreak of the First World War, and so much more.
Here’s to 10 more years of crafting, family and work life, and beautiful pictures!

Ooh, I hope I’m not too late! I’m working on so many things… a pair of patterned socks that I started knitting years ago, writing two books – one of each of my grandma’s life stories, family tree research, a Masters degree in linguistics… the list goes on.

    10 years :0) Wow !!!!
I am knitting a premie hat. I have been knitting for years … but this is the first I have knit. My Daughter’s friend just had a 2# baby boy. I just keep looking at the tiny hat and realize how much I took for granted !!!!!

Congratulations for the 10 years milestone. I love this blog and is one of the very few I still visit in this time pressed days (My love for humble and wild flowers finds company here).
Currently I only dream of what I will do when I have the time ( a summer skirt with african style fabric, lavender bags with Alcobaca “Chita”, pillows covers without zippers, pouches ( for this I will need to learn how to sew zippers) to offer to friends, and a linen summer dress.
