Autumn 2

Autumn

Autumn 1

Autumn 3

Now the equinox has passed, the mornings are getting darker and we're slowly sending the warmth back to the northern hemisphere. There's so much good food at the start of autumn. Tonight I hope to bottle pears and we'll eat the last of the sweetcorn from the garden.

Sometimes after dinner, Tom and I sit outside on the porch with our glass of wine and flocks of birds swoop and gather, making plans to emigrate.

I love this time of year. It's my favourite.

So much yellow and brown – pears, corn, sunflower, grasses, the little bird’s belly. I love these colors. I’m looking out my window at the post-winter browns – dark, wet, rotting. You have the post-summer browns – much crisper and bright.

I love autumn the best too – the food (tomatoes!), the colours, the last flush of roses, the crispness in the morning air even here in Auckland.

I like all the seasons for their own special treats – the colors. Right now my favorite is Spring because I’m tired of this non-winter we’ve had.
Without snow it seems that spring started at the beginning of February. We have had very nice weather lately, but tomorrow we are due for rain & snow = slush! Oh spring, where are youuuuuuu?

Turning of the season – I just love the changing of colours of the trees, though not a big fan of the cold – BUT it means I have more of an excuse to stay indoors and pursue crafty/arty hobbies/projects :-)in the evenings!

Autumn is my very favouritest too, I think it smells the best of all seasons and the light has the most amazing quality. Not to mention acorns, chestnuts, flame-coloured leaves, frosts, feijoas and easter.

I love this early autumn weather too, days still warm enough not to be wearing loads of layers, trees changing and cosy cooler evenings. Lovely post, i love your little bird card.

It is funny to see you’re as excited with the beginning of autumn as we are here with spring. they’re both my favorites. I love the colours of autumn as much as I love watching all the plants and trees “waking up” and growing out of the ground.
The plant – I don’t know its name in English, in French its common name is monnaie-du-pape (Pope’s currency) in one of my favorites. it is so graphic!

Are those seed pods from a Money Plant? I have three starting that I planted from seed last year. Are you familiar with how it grows, any tips? I love spring and fall. We are the opposite of you, still a chill, but I am starting seeds. I love the sunflowers. Sounds like you are finding a little time to relax, sounds good.
