To you and your family – thanks for the ride.
Your beautiful crafts and charming family insights have cheered me during cancer, family deaths, marriage breakdown and empty nest.
That’s already real journalism! Best wishes with taking it further.

    Hi Melissa,
You don’t know this but you were the first blog I ever followed, when you lived in Norway. It always seemed a cozy place to visit. But as I know only too well things change, both ways, for better or worse, or what you make of things.
I have had to go back to work full time, when for all my married life I was only part time and it has been hard. But I was glad to be able to pick up the slack in our family when my husband became unemployed in this economy. So know the need to have those skills to be able to do so.
Wishing you well and it’s a fun challenge, back to that environment and forward to greater learning.
Take care, wishing you the best.

Hello Lovely Melissa 🙂 I just have a question about baking the cups to set the ink… I have had cups go brownish greyish… and others of the same kind (and with the exact same treatment, ie washing them before I start drawing on them…)are fine… do you know why this could be? Many thanks for any tips! ♥ Iaso From Waiheke

    hi iaso,
ive had cups go that colour before, and its often with older, more brittle ceramics- if you use newish ones, it never happens.
also, it could be that you are baking them a bit too long or at too high a temperature… sometimes your oven can be set a bit too high- you can get an oven thermometer for this.
    hope that helps!
